So it has definately been awhile since I have written on here, but I was starting to think that I should post. This will be my first post of 2009 but it is brought on by something that happened in 2008. While I was home I was able to attend SUnday School at ERNC and Sandy talked about our top 10 days of 2008. She asked a few of us what were some days that stuck out and that got me thinking. I kept thinking of the top 10 days and didnt know if I actually had 10 days that would stick out in my mind, but lo and behold I did! These days dont necessarily need to be good days, but they are days that have made me realize God's presence and devotion. So I have decided that I would post what my top 10 days were starting from 10-1!!!
10. Celebrating my birthday at the rainforest Cafe! My parents had sent me 13 gifts one for each day leading up to my birthday! It was a great way to be so close yet so far away!
9. Spending the weekend before Christmas with family that I had not seen in over a year! It was great to be able to hang out with them!
8. Celebrating my parents 25th wedding anniversary with them renewing their vows and recommitting their lives to one another in front of family and friend!
7. Having someone very close to me open up to me and another friend about a miscarriage. This was such a blessing to know that this person trusted me enough to confide in me.
6. My first field trip with the KCUYC as an employee and we had a student shoplift, it sticks out in my head because it had me second guessing my ability to work with students, and yet God proved faithful yet again.
5. Standing in the Garden at the youth center being told that a student was going to be a parent.
4. Finding out that a co-worker/friend had try to OD. She was only 18 and decided that since her friends didnt like her anymore, there was no need for her to continue living, it was a blow to the face, because I felt like I had tried so hard to reach out to her and this is what happened, she made it through and I was so relieved to hear the final outcome.
3. It was in October and I had just been feeling really down with myself and things that were going on and at 3:00 in the morning something woke me up and I did nothing but cry and pray and listen. I felt God's presence more at that time than I had in a long time.
2. Cooking my very first Thanksgiving ever, it was my first Thanksgiving completely on my own and I made everything from the Turkey to the pie's!
1. Getting my Job at the KCUYC after lots of thoughts and prayers
Those are the ones that have stuck out to me over the last year! I am looking forward to whats to come in this new year!
