Birthdays come and go

Yesterday was my 25th birthday and although I wasnt looking forward to it, you know 25 on Friday the 13th, but thanks to some amazing friends and family, it was a great day! The day started off with a phone call at 6:30a.m. from Miss Monique and then shortly there after my Madre and Padre called! It was a great morning I worked a few hours, picked up the birthday cake, and headed to the center. The kids at the center always brighten my day and it was so much fun to walk into the center and have the kids greeting me with a hug and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! The center had bought me a card and had the kids sign it and although it was to be a surprise, one kid J brought me the card and told me to sign it, I realized what it was and was like uggg I dont think Im supposed to!!! LOL he was too cute he looked so embarassed! They got me some HSM cereal and a TWILIGHT poster it was great! The evening was great we went to the cheesecake factory and the waiter was hilarious and of course cute! Then we ended the evening with games at my apartment! I am so thankful for such good friends they totally made my day! I think the highlight of my day though was by far the outpooring of hugs and Happy Birthday by 50 some kids! They truely are the best part of my life right now! This has definately been a birthday to remember in more ways than one! The weekend has been going great! My boys won the championship basketball game today, Im kind of sad because I wont get to see them every Saturday morning, but I know Ill still see them!

Thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday and who has been such a support to me over the last 25 years I love you and think the world of you all!!!!!!!!

Behind the Scenes

So a friend of mine, Kim, let me borrow this CD called My Paper Heart by a fairly new Christian artist Francesca Battistelli and the CD is amazing. I have literally listened to this CD about 100 times in the last week or so. Everytime I listen to the CD and the songs I am blown away by the lyrics. Last week while I was listening in my car I started to really listen to the words of one of the songs called Behind the Scenes. You know how you can listen to songs over and over and over and know the words, but not KNOW what they are saying. That was what I had been doing with this song. As I sat at the stop-light listening to the words I started to realize how powerful this song truely is. It talks about how we can say the right things do the right things, but be completely miserable on the inside. People arent seeing the whole picture they are only seeing what we show them. And I realized how true that really is. I can put on a smile and say everything is fine over and over and over again, but at night when I lay my head down and talk to God is when all the frustrations come out and its there in the "behind the scene" moments that Im completely me and all of me is what God is seeing. The words to this song are so powerful and have really struck a chord in me the last week and even today. I encourage you all to listen to the song you can go to the website at the bottom of the post and listen to the song but Ive also copied the words below!

Behind The Scenes - Lyrics
Album: My Paper Heart
Artist: Francesca Battistelli

You may think
I’m just fine
How could anything
Ever be out of line?

I take my time
To set the stage
To make sure everything
Is all in place

Even though I’ve got the lines rehearsed
A picture only paints a thousand words

(Chorus)
Things aren’t always what they seem
You’re only seeing part of me
There’s more than you could ever know
Behind the scenes
I’m incomplete and I’m undone
But I suppose like everyone
There’s so much more that’s going on
Behind the scenes

Sometimes I can’t see
Anything
Through the dark
Surrounding me
And at times I’m unsure
About the ground
Beneath my feet
If it’s safe and sound

When it’s hard to find hope in the unseen
I have peace in knowing it will find me

(Chorus)

You may think I’m just fine
How could anything ever be out of line?

(Chorus)
