I almost forgot... in this module class that I am in, Personal and Spiritual Development of the Minister, we have been singing different Hymns, throughout the last two weeks. We have been singing a lot of different songs out of the Wesley Hymnal, most of which I have never heard, However, there is a set tune to each song. Now... let me tell you, my professor is known for taking these songs and singing them to any tune, he feels goes with the flow of the song. Yesterday in class we were made aware of the John Wesley's Rules for Singing, listed in the front of the Wesley hymnal. Here are those rules:
1. Learn these tunes before you learn any other, afterwards learn as many as you please.
2. sing them exactly as they are printed here, without altering or mending them at all; and if you have learned them otherwise, unlearn it as soon as you can.
3. Sing ALL. See that you join with congregation as frequently as you can. Let not a slight degree of weakness or weariness hinder you. If it is a cross to you, take it up and you will find it a blessing.
4 sing lustily and with a good courage. beware of singing as if you were half dead, or half asleep; but lift up your voice with strength. Be no more afraid of your voice now, nor more ashamed of its being heard, than when you sung the songs of Satan.
5. Sing Modestly. do not Bawl, so as to be heard above or distinct from the rest of the congregation, that you may not destroy the harmony; but strive to unite your voices together, so as to make one clear melodious sound.
6. Sing in time, Whatever time is sung be sure to keep with it. Do not run before nor stay behind it; but attend close to the leading voices, and move therewith as exactly as you can; and take care not to sing too slow. This drawling way naturally steals on all who are lazy; and it is high time to drive it out from us, and sing all out tunes just as quick as we did at first
7. Above all sing spiritually. have an eye on God in every word you sing. Aim at pleasing Him more than yourself, or at any other creature. In order to do this attend strictly to the sense of what you sing, and see that your heart is not carried away with the sound, but offered to God contintually, so shall your singing be such as the Lord will approve here, ad reward you when He cometh in the clouds of Heaven.
Now Im sure you all can think of different times in which people around you, and heaven forbid you, have broken these rules. IN the terms of this class we break them daily , and to me its just HILARIOUS!!!!
Enjoy these rules and if you ever run across someone disobeying these rules tell them John Wesley doesnt approve!!!

Where's the Snow?
Well Kansas City weather has once again taken a crazy turn. Monday was 59, Tuesday it snowed and Wednesday it was freezing cold and today.... well today was suppose to be 1-4 in. of snow by morning, and guess what...????? No snow , in fact its prolly about 30 degrees, its crazy. So my question this morning in where is the snow? We were suppose to get this crazy snow storm and nothing.
The week has gone fairly well, I had my meeting with the gentleman from the center, and it was good. I was able to tell him what it was I felt God was calling me towards and I was able to hear the center's plans for expansion. Please continue praying for the situation you never know if something is going to open up.
I have been super busy the last couple weeks, my manager is out for 6 weeks and I have had this module and have been closing every night. It stinks, but I gotta do it. I am still looking for a new job, but I dont want something that isnt going to work with my schooling. We shall see.
I was able to go to one of the boys from my Church's youth group's basketball game on Tuesday night. Because of the freak snow storm, center was closed due to nasty roads, so I was able to go to Colter's game. He is actually pretty decent player, however I realized how much high school is DRAMA and FAKE. The cheerleaders were horrible I have video to prove it, all I have to say is the schools mascot was the whirlwinds, and those girls could have started a whirlwind,,,,, HORRIBLE. I sat there and just wanted to smack half the fake girls that walked by and gave dirty looks to the "uncool" kids. I dont miss that at all.
Well modules are over tomorrow and classes start next week, I still cant believe I am starting my second semester out here. I am pretty excited about classes to start and hopefully have a pretty decent semester laid out for me.
Well I had better start paying attention in class.
Glad you are all reading this and hope it helps out in knowing what Im doing out here.!!!

MODULES ARE GOING TO BE THE DEATH OF ME
So modules started last week and this whole getting up at 6:45 in the morning is not my cup of tea. For those of you who know me, you know that I am NOT a morning person, in fact it takes me awhile to wake up, and coming and sitting in a class for 4 hours straight is not my idea of waking up. I am really trying to pay attention during class, but its hard, I have to find ways to keep myself awake. Other than that the class really is good. We meet in small groups daily and we are able to speak openly about our seminary experience and different aspects of our life. I really enjoy that!
Today is my day off PTL and it could not have come at a better time, I am completely exhausted. I get up at 6:45 , go to class until 12:15, go home , eat lunch, then go straight to work and work until 8:30 home and then its dinner, and hopefully some homework then back to bed.... its the endless cycle of TIREDNESS!!!!! So this is a wonderful day, nothing to do except the youth center. I do however have a meeting with the guy in charge of the center today at 12:30 he wants to talk with me about my plans and the centers plans and see if they may overlap! Keep me in your prayers who knows where this could lead!
Well American Idol is tonight and they are going to have to kick it up a notch in order to compete with previous seasons... not impressed..... but anyways enough rambling ...
I almost forgot, last night at work, I had a lady come in and try on a boot... ( just picture this in your mind you will laugh) now this boot is for girls with small legs, not big legs, like this lady had. She decided that even though she needed the shoe in a 9 she would try on on the 81/2 .. Not the smartest idea. After a few minutes the lady comes around the corner yelling " Honey , excuse me, Sweetie, can you come here and help me?" I looked around the corner and saw the boot on her foot and the zipper seemed to be gaping at the bottom. She had put this boot on and somehow got it all the way zipped up, and POP!!!!! the zipper busted and she was stuck in the boot, I spent almost 10 minutes trying to get the boot off of this lady, and finally I pulled down on the zipper and out on the boot and SNAP it broke... it was the highlight of my night, but to make it better she wanted me to check another store for the same size!!!! LOL

Taxi Driver
The weekend was filled with fun and excitement. I was asked to be a taxi driver to my friend Jennifer and her children. Jennifer had surgery on Tuesday on her foot and isnt able to drive, so I played Taxi Driver for her. Sunday was full of excitement, we went to Chucke Cheeses' and the Great Mall in Olathe. This mall is massive, We didnt even make it half way through. I bought some cool new shoes, they are BRIGHT pink and blue and totally AMAZING!!! And they only cost 8.98 at Steve and Barry's! Youth Group was really good last night. The kids absolutely crack me up, they area blast. This one kid Levi decided that it was better to stare at me then to actually pay attention to the service, I told him , and i quote " I swear to you if you do not stop staring I am gonna smack you," He thought the way in which I said this was hilarious and was dying laughing! I still get made fun of for my accent. Im over it!! Not really :)
Sat. night I went to see 27 dresses, it is the best movie I have seen in the last few months, WAY better than PS I LOve you, I loved it. and James Marsden !!! AMAZING
well class is gettin ready to start and I had better start listening!
"Bless me Indeed Oh Lord, and Enlarge my territories."

Life Thus Far
Life Thus Far... where to start. I have been in KC, MO ( thats what they call it out here) for 5 1/2 months and boy has it been an adventure.
I have learned that KC is the coldest place on the face of this earth. God decided not to give them any mountains and therefore the wind blows and you think you are going to die from the cold. I haven't seen green grass since October. Its always snow or ice or mud. Not a good time. I will say though that when its hot its hot and when its cold its cold. I am ready for the hot, or I think so at least.
Since being here I have volunteered once a week at the Urban Youth Center. The kids down there are just a blessing. I have learned so much about myself through them. They are definitely the best part of my week. Most of the kids are still there from two summers ago, however the staff has changed. The workers who were there when I was there are gone now, that took a little getting use to , but they are just as great at the old.I also help out with the youth group at my church. I go to the Harrisonville Church of the Nazarene and there are about 30 youth. It has been a great experience, we go out to eat with them every Sunday night. They are a blast and its nice to have that connection. Makes me feel more at home.
I was also able to go to High School Musical on Ice. And I think I will be going to see professional bull riding in March, and the Gaithers in May!!! I am very excited about both. I have made a great group of friends, from a large variety of areas. We are a good group though, we hang out alot and are always having fun. It the first time that I have felt that I have true friends, not ones that are going to leave me high and dry, but will be there. It refreshing and encouraging to know that when your doing God's will he will provide people of encouragement and likeness.
Well I have been working at Payless shoes and feel as if my paycheck goes to SHOES!!! Im an addict but its ok. I have been doing better. I am however trying to find a new job and will see where that goes. I am meeting on Tuesday with the director of the Youth Center and he wants to speak with me about where God is leading me and where the center is heading and wants to see if those two things may cross paths, who know what will come from it, but just keep me in your prayers.
I finished my first semester with a 3.0 and was very proud of myself. I worked hard for my grades, more so now then in my undergrad, I am actually doing the work, Im still waiting until the end, but I am doing it and following through. To me its just an encouragement and shows me that if I give God everything he will direct my path.
God's presence is definitely guiding me on this journey, I have had many opportunities to reach those in need and am so thankful that I have answered the call. I am really going to try to keep this up so that people get a little better idea of what I am going through out here.
Song of the Day: Jesus Paid it All
"Jesus paid it all, All to Him I owe
sin has left a crimson stain, He washed
it white as snow."
